Gostei do filme, atores, narrativa e figurinos. Envolvente, da vontade de buscar mais informações sobre a guerra civil americana e entender um pouco mais sobre as pedras fundamentais da sua cultura.
  • Well made, but inaccurate view of the South

This movie is full of story and heart. If you like a movie about history, you should watch this. My only complaint is that they said the south was fighting for slavery, such was completely not true. The south felt that their state rights were being threatened, the north was critical of the south, and Lincoln was raising troops. Now that ticked off the southerners and that was the biggest reason why they rebelled. Slavery never came to mind for rebellion. Slavery was dying in the south since it was to expensive. 90% of the southern population didn't have slavery. If the war never happened slavery would've ended in 50 years after 1861.

Wonderful movie that shows the complexities and leadership of Lincoln. Interesting so many of the negative reviews are just the vinegar of some Southerners who say the movie ‘rewrites’ history all while they characterize the war as the ‘war of Northern aggression’, while they argue the war had nothing to do with slavery and while they seem to fail to recognize the acts of treason their own family members committed against the United States. Yes, we are still fighting this war….and it’s time to remember who actually won.

A wonderful piece of theater and art. Every portion of this film was stunning from the costumes, to sets, to the superb acting. Truly a wonderful film.

You quickly forget you're watching an actor named Daniel Day Lewis. He became President Lincoln. One of if not the greatest portrayal of an American president.

This movie is really good and well-made! The acting and directing is terrific! Yes, it is really slow in some parts, so if you don't like slow movies, or dialogue-heavy movies, I don't recommend you watch this.

It was a well put together film. however, it misled the viewer and promotes a false advertisment of Lincoln. The film made him seem nothing less than the greatest hero this country has ever seen. it convinces the viewer that Lincoln was totally against slavery and thought everyone to be equal. But two of Lincolns less favorable quotes that were left out were, "If i could save the union without absolishing slavery, i would. if i HAVE to save it with aboishing slavery, i will." and the second "i was brought up in a home treating everyone equal. but i have to say without a doubt that the white man is far more superior than the black man. and that is why i plan to have them all, fully paid, shipped back to africa." those two quotes came directly from Lincolns mouth. but he met a man before he could have the black peoples shipped out whom changed his mind and proposed a solution to take control of the south, and then when it was all over, make them abolish slavery before he even abolished it in the union. I really wish someone would portray him as he was, a good president, but selfish and greedy. and to back up what im saying even more, when the press heard about his idea of shipping out the black man, the journalists in the north wrote about it. and he had 3,000 journalists sent to prison WITHOUT a trial. so yea, this man is portrayed greatly in society, but in actuality, he was a lying, murderous, racist scoundral. but i will rate it 2 stars because he was our president and the president is the president no matter how bad of a person he is or how bad of a job he does.
  • Gosh, my mom told me not to watch it.

My mom and dad thinks this is not a good movie for me or anybody in my family for us to watch. I didn't see it but it was not such a waste of money it was such a waste of time for me to watch it. So I will totally not see Lincoln.

I love American History and if our citizenry and our children could know the TRUE American History they would have seen a different President Lincoln. This depiction of our wonderful 16th President is a boring with revised history to keep the Democratic Left progressives content. The Acting was superb, great cast, great score by John Williams, but I would never put this almost 3 hour untruthful (and depressing) movie to my wonderful kids and grandkids!
